What exactly is Afterburn?

Afterburn is a small group fitness (HIIT) class held outdoors in the North Park corner of Balboa Park. Named after the "afterburn theory," the class utilizes heart rate monitors to help get students into their optimal workout zones. The goal is to achieve the "afterburn effect" or the body's increased caloric burn for up to 48 hours after a HIIT workout.
