What exactly is Afterburn?

Afterburn is a small, outdoor group fitness (HIIT) class held in Balboa Park adjacent to North Park. The "afterburn effect" is the research-backed, elevated caloric burn in the body for up to 48 hours after a HIIT workout. But our class is more than just a class... it's a small, welcoming community which thrives on small group energy, minimalism, and a coach who helps students (as much or as little as they want) to get a handle on their nutrition. Afterburn is redefining the value of "group fitness."

Class Operating Guidelines and Rules (revised 11/22/2020)

  1. Contact logging at the beginning of each class.
  2. All equipment is sanitized between classes.
  3. All students are required to sanitize their hands prior to the start of class. (Provided by us)
  4. All students are required to sanitize their hands at the conclusion of class. (Provided by us)
  5. All students are required to maintain a minimum distance of 6 feet from others.
  6. All students are required to have a mask on their person to be admitted to class.
  7. The use of face coverings is strongly recommended, even during class.
  8. The use of face coverings is required when the minimum 6 foot distance cannot be maintained from others
  9. Students are reminded and encouraged to keep their hands away from their faces during class.
  10. Students are reminded to REMAIN AT HOME AND SELF-ISOLATE if they feel ill or exhibit any symptoms.
